Did you know that Vietnam has the 7th largest population of farmed animals, that's more than 2 billion animals and with meat and animal product consumption set to increase the situation is likely to be a disaster for animals who are kept in inhumane and filthy conditions and slaughtered decades before their natural life expectancy. Uncovered seeks to expose this cruelty and bring awareness to their plight.
What is Uncovered?
Uncovered is a series of documentaries with the intent to examine into the field of animal rights and veganism. Our goal is to present life-changing media that connects to the heart of those in our community. Our intention for the series is to create a lasting legacy, similar to that of "Dominion" and "Earthlings," which will not only embolden vegans to do more to help but also prompt the public to strongly question their relationship with animals.
Why does uncovered exist?
The science is in agreement that a plant-based diet is suitable for all life stages including pregnancy, infancy and adulthood. In addition the leading science indicates that those who consume more whole plant foods help to increase their lifespan, a shift to more healthier plant-based eating habits would also reduce the incidence of preventable disease and support our burdened health system.
Adopting a plant-based diet significantly reduces one's carbon footprint, as plant-based food production requires fewer resources and emits less greenhouse gases than animal agriculture. This shift conserves water, reduces deforestation, and protects natural habitats. Additionally, it helps preserve biodiversity by decreasing the demand for livestock grazing lands. Embracing a plant-based lifestyle is a powerful action towards combating climate change and promoting sustainability.
It's not just animals that suffer. The trauma endured by slaughterhouse workers, who often face dangerous conditions and emotional distress from witnessing constant animal suffering. These workers are exposed to high rates of injury and mental health issues due to the harsh realities of industrial animal agriculture. By reducing the demand for animal products, we can decrease the need for such traumatic labor and promote more humane and safer job opportunities.
