Ingredient

  • 6 bok choy plants
  • 4 green onions cut into pieces about 5cm long
  • 6 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 small piece of grated ginger
  • 1.5 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1.5 teaspoons of water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Making

  • Cut bok choy in half or quarters if the cabbage is large. Rinse under running water to remove remaining sand and dust
  • Blanch the bok choy in salted boiling water for about 30 seconds then set aside
  • Sauté garlic and ginger at medium heat for about 2-3 minutes. Then add soy sauce
  • Add bok choy to the above sauce mixture for about 1-2 minutes then add green onions
  • Increase cooking temperature and add water
  • Stir well for a few minutes then add cornstarch mixture. Be careful not to overcook the bok choy and it will lose its crispness
  • Season with salt and pepper, mix well until the sauce thickens
  • Eat immediately while it's still hot
